Join our team of passionate educators who are committed to making a difference in the lives of the children and families we serve. The Assistant Site Manager assists the Early Head Start/Head Start Site Manager with all aspects of the operation of the Early Childhood Education Center.
Responsibilities include:
- 
    
Assume responsibility for operation of the program in the absence of the Site Manager
 - 
    
Train, supervise and evaluate teachers, assistants and student interns
 - 
    
Coach and support staff, modeling teaching techniques and providing input to lesson plans
 - 
    
Monitor education services to ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards, DCFS licensing standards and National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) criteria
 - 
    
Assist with billing procedures and payment collection
 - 
    
Represent the program and agency to parents and the community
 
Qualifications:
- 
    
Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent field from an accredited institution.
 - 
    
Must have 18 hours of early childhood education credit.
 - 
    
Level 5 Infant Toddler Credential or Type 4 Credential preferred.
 - 
    
Toddler/Pre-K CLASS experience preferred.
 - 
    
A minimum of 4 years teaching experience
 - 
    
Staff supervision experience preferred.
 - 
    
Experience with Creative Curriculum, Teaching Strategies GOLD and ITERS/ECERS
 - 
    
Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
 - 
    
Must be attentive to detail, resourceful and self-motivated.
 - 
    
Ability to interact effectively with children and lift them, if necessary.
 - 
    
Valid driver’s license, insurance and reliable transportation required.
