Job Description:
The Family Service Worker is responsible for enrolling children and families into a Head Start site, as well as, providing casework services and referral services. The Family Service Worker collaborates with the Site Director and center staff to coordinate services relating to the child and family’s wellbeing, including disabilities, mental health, nutrition, and family partnerships. Candidate ensures paperwork and documentation required by funding sources is submitted in a timely manner. Candidate responds to and works with external partners and funding sources including representatives from the Department of Family and Support Services, Chicago Public Schools, and the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Candidate shows an understanding of the COPA data entry system and Head Start Performance Standards.
Job Requirements:
Bachelors degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
