Lead a team of passionate educators who are committed to making a difference in the lives of the children and families we serve. The Early Head Start/Head Start Site Manager oversees the overall management of the Early Childhood Education Center, including supervising Head Start and Early Head Start education staff and kitchen staff. The Site Manager reports to the Director of Education.
Responsibilities include:

Manages all components of the education program.

Oversees maintenance of the building and grounds.

Ensures that operations meet agency, federal, state and local requirements, including licensing, Head Start, accreditation, contractual and other standards.

Hires, trains, supervises and evaluates education staff.

Participates in the development and management of the Center budget and finances.

Assists with grant applications, reports and other documents required by funding sources.

Maintains and monitors program data collection and evaluation system to ensure that quality standards are met and that services continue to improve.

Represents the program and agency to parents and the community.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent field from an accredited institution. Master’s degree preferred.

Post-graduate credentials or training preferred: CLASS, Teaching Strategies GOLD, Type 04, Infant-Toddler Credential, Illinois Directors Credential, Reggio Emilia.

Working knowledge of Creative Curriculum preferred.

A minimum of 5 years early childhood education program experience required.

A minimum of 3 years experience in a supervisory or management role in a Head Start or Early Head Start program preferred.

Familiarity with Preschool for All, Prevention Initiative, and child care subsidy requirements preferred.

Effective interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and follow-through on tasks.

Proficiency in preparing accurate reports, analyzing data and interpreting information.

Valid driver’s license, insurance and reliable transportation required.
