Under the supervision of the Master Teacher, the Teacher Assistant functions as a member of the teaching team working with children ages 3-5. Candidate maintains compliance with all documentation and actions that are required by licensing agents: Head Start, Preschool for All, the Department of Family and Support Services, National Association for the Education of Young Children, and Metropolitan Family Services. Teacher Assistant assists in providing activities which support children in their social emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
Candidate is responsible for assisting in screening children within the prescribed timeframes using the Early Screening Inventory and the Ages and Stages Social Emotional Questionnaire. Candidate must contribute to education files and provide weekly observations for the children’s portfolios.
Associates degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
