Strengthening Families

Keynote Presentation: "Strategies for Embedding Protective Factors in Child Welfare and Maximizing Early Childhood and Child Welfare Collaboration"
Presented by: DCFS Director Erwin McEwen

Expert Panel Discussion: Strengthening Families Illinois experts describe the collaborative process between child welfare and early care and education as it relates to embedding protective factors in best practice from a variety of perspectives, including Early Childhood Director, Family Advocacy Center Administrator, Parent, Region Administrator and Child Welfare Manager.

Collaboration:
Participate in an interactive discussion on ways to recognize opportunities and build protective factors to prevent child abuse and neglect.

Skill-Building Through Partner Cafés:
Learn first-hand what parents experience during Parent Cafés. Parent leaders will share their experiences, including successes and challenges.

Future Design:
Learn about outcomes for evaluation and outlook to the future.

Kids Hope United will also offer an additional two full days of workshop programming on Strengthening Families during the Opening Minds Conference to cap this national conference. (The pre-conference day is separate fee workshop)
